The Painter

What is Consciousness....well know one knows for sure, but I will attempt to explain in my words what I think it is. Consciousness is a field of possibilities not yet this or that.

Imagine a blank canvas. A canvas is a field that anything can be painted on. Consciousness is the blank canvas.

Everyone born into the world comes with their own canvas. At first our canvas is blank and very simple, but with time we paint this canvas with life experiences and what we learned from these experiences.  This canvas reflects now our story.

Then one beautiful day we hear about the possibility that we can change the canvas and we go to work painting over the canvas. We choose beautiful colors and things we want to experience in our life. First it looks good and we are happy with our new canvas, but as time goes by the old paint starts coming through so we touch up the canvas here and there.

After years of touching up, the layers are so think that the paint eventually starts to chip and we are a mess for we believed that our canvas is our life until we ask: Is there a better way? That is when a door opens and we realize that we are not the canvas nor the paint but the one painting the canvas.

Being the painter of the canvas we have three option:
1) Remove ALL the old paint and start over painting a beautiful picture
2) Remove all the paint and stare at a blank canvas
3) Remove all the paint and let God paint your canvas

To remove ALL the paint you have to get rid of all your beliefs, concepts and ideas of who you are.
Get rid of the past and the future and live in the presence of now. This might take a little practice because we have made it a habit to feel sorry for ourselves and feed on the pity others give us. Stop it! You are settling for less. You are limiting yourself from creating beautiful things in your life such as happiness, wealth and health. By sticking to your story you continue to create.....your story and cut out all possibilities of creating or witnessing anything other then your story.

I have met spiritual people on a path to "enlightenment" being stuck in no where land. The removed all their beliefs but did not find their true Self, instead they found a void, an emptiness because they failed to take one more step: you have to turn your attention to the painter. They saw the canvas, removed the paint but did not become aware of the painter. As they confused the canvas with being their Self, when the paint was removed the Self was empty.... a void or nothingness. They did not experience the bliss of being, that so many mystics experience.

What mystics do is remove all the paint and let God paint their canvas and they are simply witnesses to Gods love and creation of perfection into detail. God paints our life in harmony, a harmony we know not of; a combination of love peace and joy infused in all we encounter. We could never paint God's picture for us, no matter how talented we are at painting. Every picture we paint is limited by our imagination and filtered through our judgments of good and bad.

The whole reason why we are here, the true cause behind all desires, the only real reason to do anything is to know the Self. Why is this so important you ask? Because it is the end to suffering, the end to duality, the beginning and alignment as Life and all that IS.

Meditation 101

Meditation has been around for thousands of years. The reason why so many engage in this activity is because of the so much wanted result this action brings about. The cause of suffering no matter if it is fear, worry, anger, jealousy, insecurity, stress, loneliness and desire, is associated with the mind. And to be exact it is the associating WITH mind that brings about these emotions.

Which brings us to the question: What is an emotion? An emotion is different than a feeling. An emotion is a reaction to a thought. Feelings are divine and completely independent of any “outside source”. There are only three divine feelings and they are peace, love and joy. A spiritual master experiences these three feelings all at the same time which is Bliss.

But back to meditation: Meditation is a tool to help one gain 1) control over the mind and 2) separate oneself from mind and simply become a witness to mind.

The mind is like a child that constantly wants something. It is screaming look at me and wanting constant attention. It is screaming I want this and I want that. It is screaming so loud that we can’t hear our own small voice inside of us and it is screaming so loud that we can’t hear, see, or observe anything that is truly going on around us. All of our attention is on this “child”.

In order to gain control over our life, be at peace, see the beauty all around us and hear that small inner voice which connects us with our true source, we need train the mind.

In order to train the mind, set 15 min aside ever day at the same time. This way you start training your mind and form a positive habit. Make sure you will not be disturbed by a phone going off. You may choose to lay down or sit, but if you get too comfortable you will fall asleep and miss all the action. If you set your meditation time of day to the evening time you are also more likely to fall asleep. So just try it and adjust to whatever, whenever works for you.

There are many ways to meditate but what all of them have in common is the focus of mind on one thing. This “one thing” can be anything. Focusing on breathing is the easiest, least expensive and you have wherever you go.

Close your eyes and put your attention on breathing in and out of your nostrils.

When a thought catches your attentions recognize it and bring your attention gently back to breathing. Keep doing this. This is training the mind to stay where you want it to be. With time it will get easier and fewer thoughts will have the power to pull your attention away from breathing.

When this goal is achieved, it is time to become aware of thought. See the thought... try to grasp it with your attention and recognize it as a thought. Do not judge the thought as good or bad…it is just a thought. You are observing a thought and no longer one with thought, but a witness to thought.  You are now free to be and observe the perfection beyond thought.

Moving from Wanting to Having

Have you ever wondered why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? What seems unfair at first sight is actually in divine order once we understand the cause of these appearances.

First of all please know that there is no genie in the sky, nor a God that gives or takes away nor any law that is outside of us that creates our experience. We are the creators of our experience.

Jesus said: "Those that have will have more and those that have less the lesser will be taken away".

The belief of having or not having something creates the experience of it. If you want a new experience you have to move into the feeling of having that which you desire.

At my previous job, I had the opportunity to apply for a promotion. I wanted the job badly, but there were other candidates that were also applying for this position that were more qualified than I.  I started to think what it would feel like to have that position. I started to act as if I already had it. I started to dress more professional, I bought a new car and was more accountable in all my action. I let go of the feeling of wanting it and moved into the feeling of having it and I got the promotion.

At one time, I wanted new wooden floors for my house but we had no money saved nor any money left over to save. Online I searched for pictures of the floor I wanted and set that picture as my background on my computer. Every time I got on my computer I would close my eyes briefly and imagined how it would feel to have those floors now. I was so excited. I no longer hated my stained carpet, but instead was excited to have new wooden floors. Within three weeks a large amount of money appeared and the floors were installed.

My husband and I separated for about one and a half years. Then one day my husband said he wanted the divorce. I was devastated. Against all odds of us ever getting back together and even after getting the divorce, I started to remember a time where we were happy and in love. I stopped crying and felt more and more at peace and even though I had very little contact my husband moved back home three months after our divorce.

So, what is it that you want to experience? A new car? A new house? a job? A raise? Or is it peace? Or success? Or even happiness? Imagine yourself having what you want already. The key is to know what you want and to move away from wanting into the feeling of having. And so be it.

BE PERFECT

In Math. 5:48 Jesus said: "Be ye perfect as your father in heaven is perfect."
Spirit is not good or bad, but perfect.

Be ye perfect, asks us to be, not to become. Since we are made in God's likeness and image, we too are perfect already. What is holding us back from experiencing ourselves as perfect is the belief that we are not and already. Instead we believe that we or someone else did something wrong, and/or we believe that we still have to do something in order to be. We believe: If I pray (ask) then I will know, If I meditate then I will hear, If I eat healthy then I will be healthy, If I give then I will receive, If I diet then I will loose weight and so on.

But all these things only demonstrate the belief that we are not already perfect. With other words if we still think we need to do something in order to be, we are not. Alone the thought that we are not makes our experience a less than perfect one. We are talking here about our experience only.

You are perfect already. You were perfect before you were born into this so called life and you will return again to perfection. But unless you are consciously aware that you are perfect it will not be your experience.

We are Bliss

We create our experience. How do we create our experience? We create our experiences through our beliefs. What are beliefs? Ideas that we accepted as true. Why did we accept them as true? Because we looked for a reason. Why did we look for a reason? Because the mind wants to understand.....the mind wants to know......the mind is afraid of dying.

But what is death to the mind is life to spirit.

Do we have to rid the mind? Hate the mind? Fear the mind? No. We have to die to the mind, meaning leave the mind behind....leave the mind alone. It is the identification with mind that causes suffering and limitations. We are more....much more. We are spiritual beings that are free to experience without judgment, that which truly IS....that which we truly are: Absolute Bliss

Take Responsibilty

It is easy to find compassion with victims, but victimizers are victims too. As I am reading the news my heart goes out to both the victim and victimizers. You may think how is it possible to have compassion with those harming others often even intentionally, well I feel their pain. I see that the victimizer is acting out of a pain they feel themselves.

What must they have gone through to be capable of such horrible crimes. What happened between the birth of this perfect child and the time this horrible act was done?

We can blame it on their friends, their parents, their partners and all kinds of things...and they are all valid, but if we continue to put the blame on others we will continue to create suffering in this world. What is needed desperately is a change ...a change in responsibility.

I am responsible for these crimes. I, as a society have let others down. I have put material values over family time spent together talking and listening to the needs of others. I, as a society have judged others thinking that I am better than them and I, as a person am responsible thinking that others are to blame for the suffering in this world.

We are the friends, we are the parents, we are the partners, employees and employers.

Can we as a society change? Yes....one person at a time.

Closer Than You Think

One day sitting outside on my porch I thought about God and my relationship to it, when I heard "I am closer than you think".

My first reaction was : Of course you are...everyone knows that, but I heard nothing in reply. So I thought about what I heard. Closer than I think. What is closer than I think? What is closer than thinking? Closer than thought? Then it dawned on me: My very being...before thought!

I understood! Like a veil being lifted. I saw and knew the Truth. Thought is what keeps us from being One. In the silence of my mind I AM One...with God and All. It is the only "place" we can all be together as One.

That is why Jesus said before you were I am. Before you are anything...this or that...a mother, a father, a human being, an age, a title, your job and so on you were already. Because you are the I am of your being...being nothing in particular yet at the same time all that IS.

True Forgiveness

Forgiveness is usually defined as an action of ceasing to be mad at someone that has caused pain and suffering upon another. It is basically a reaction toward the wrong doing of some kind. The one who is not able to forgive is often stuck in resentment, anger, hurt, pain or guilt. The benefits of forgiveness are clear and realized by many including Doctors and Physiologist, but how does one truly forgive?

Hi, my name is Vivian Amis and this is Beyond Forgiveness

Some say the path to forgiveness is finding compassion …. understanding that they did not know what they were doing or they would have done different. That is one way to fforgiveand a valid one, but from my experience and observation we are still seeing a “wrong” doing on the behalf of the other.

Even if we think we have forgiven…… the pain is not gone. Anyone can say they have forgiven but as long as a wrong done to us is within our consciousness the memory will continue to hunt us over and over again. That is why so many say, I have forgiven but I will never forget. So how does one truly forgive? Is there a way to completely pull the plant by it’s root? Yes there is and you will know that you have truly forgiven when you can see the experience that held you in an emotionally bondage, as a blessing.

Yes, that’s right….a blessing. Every experience is a blessing, but we often cannot see the blessing unless we step away from the experience and look at it from a larger perspective. In order to do this you must bring your awareness into the present.

As you bring your awareness into the present, ask yourself this: did not every experience you ever had make you who you are today?

If you took but one experience out of your life you would not be who you are today. Now you may not like the person you are today but that is because you don’t believe that you are in truth a beloved child of God in which God sees no fault, no imperfection and by changing your focus of attention you will see it too.

Do this exercise: Take a piece of paper and write down the names of 10 people you know. This could include friends, family members, neighbors or even people you work with. Write down what you love about them. Now look at that list.

Do you know that you could not see something in someone else if it were not also within you? What you see in others is a reflection of who you truly are.

And if you see the good within yourself can we then truly say someone did us wrong if all these good qualities developed in us because of those experiences?  No, there is only love but sometimes we need to look beyond the appearance of things, we need to look through God’s eyes to see a bigger picture, because as long as we think we need to forgive anyone….we have it all wrong.

Anger Issues?

Learn to meditate. Meditation is the art of controlling one's mind and stopping thoughts and will. Meditation is easy: close your eyes and focus your attention on your breathing. That's all! In the beginning thoughts will try to grab your attention away from breathing, if this happens just bring your attention back to breathing. The more often you practice....the easier it gets.

To The Seeker of Truth.....

To those that are still seeking in the world, I need you to seek. Seek a new car, seek success, a new relationship or what ever else you think you need to be happy. To you I say go and create. Fulfill your wants and desires. Use "The Secret" or "Law of Attraction"  and read my article on "Having". Have fun!! There is no judgment on any of it. For only after you have experienced it for yourself you will not believe me. Only when you have tried to fill the void inside of you with things of this world and could not, will you surrender and be ready for the Truth.

This article is for you: You who how has come to the understanding and has learned after much, much seeking that what you are seeking is not without but within. You have learned that nothing of this world can bring you every lasting happiness. Nothing of this world can fill of needs and give you the peace you so desperate are looking for.

Are you ready?

Are you ready for the truth?

The Truth is you are seeking your Self.
The Truth is you can't "find" your Self, because you are your Self.
The Truth is that you are trying to grasp with your mind "THAT" which is beyond mind.
The Truth is as long as you are seeking....you are not finding......for you are seeking.
The Truth is that you are not anything your mind can come up with.
The Truth is you are the "I am" of your being.
The Truth is you are never changing, pure essence and presence.

Therefore strip your Self of all beliefs, of all thoughts. You were before anything became some -thing. You are not this nor that you are: I am. You are I am that.....(pointing to) I AM

You may not know your Self in terms of knowledge for knowledge too is of this world, but you will know your Self because you will know your Self  by being "it".

To Have or Not to Have.....that is your Choice

Jesus said something like: Those that have will have more and those that have less, the lesser will be taken away...... and I have found that to be the truth. Why and how you may ask....well here is my answer:

Your very being is God/Spirit and by you claiming (belief and demonstrating) to have or not to have you create your experience of having or not having.

You believe you have or have not and then demonstrate your belief of having or not having through your words, thoughts and actions.

Lets say you have over weight. What do you have? Over weight. Your believe you have over weight  and demonstrate that belief by going on a diet and thinking you are fat when you look in the mirror or you don't fit in your clothes.

Let's say you can't pay your bills. What do you have? Bills and what don't you have? Money to pay these bills. You believe it to be the case and demonstrate that belief by worrying, working more hours and asking to borrow money.

Let's say you are separated from your partner. What do you have? Separation and you demonstrate that separation by crying and begging them to come back. You feel lonely and unwanted so you don't go out anymore nor take care of your self.

Anything that you want you are actually demonstrating that you don't have it. Alone the desire of wanting is a demonstration of not having.

Those that don't know who they are in truth are victims to circumstances, but you have a choice. Once you understand how you are creating your experience, you can turn things around and change your experience. All you need to do is to stop wanting it and that is the tricky part. You have to actually create the feeling of having within you so that the appearance changes.

One way of creating the feeling is to use affirmations. Affirmations are words or sentence spoken over and over again until they change the subconscious mind which is creating the experience of a feeling. Some may have a problem with this as it first feels like a lie. So, here is another way: Look at what you do have. This is where gratitude comes in. It is actually the awareness....your awareness of having something and more of that will then come. If you don't have anything remember a time where you had it. Remember it often and remember how you felt when you had it. Feel it!

Since all wants and desires are based on the belief that it will bring you happiness if you had it you can also go straight to being happy now and that also would be the demonstration of you having what ever you desire to experience....happiness.

Miracles

Question:
What is a Miracle?

Answer:
I would like to first define what a Miracle is to me: A Miracle is the dropping away of an illusion. It is something that happens against all odds.

The reason why I believe in them is because I have witnessed them. I have heard many stories from others that are trust worthy too....like me LOL

I love Miracles. Miracles give us hope in times of suffering. They open our mind to more possibilities and awaken within us a desire to know the Truth of our own being.

A few weeks ago a relative of mine said she needed to win the lottery to be able to get out of dept. I laughed and told her to write down on a piece of paper what she really needed. A week later she told me that she did what I told her to do and that she needed $20,000.

About a week later I got a call from her. She had received a fake Rolex watch 14 years ago. Her son was visiting and as she was in the process of looking for a jewelry piece to wear as her son picked up the Rolex and asked her what it was. She continue to tell him that it is a fake Rolex. After a quick examination her son noticed a 18K stamp.

The watch turned out to be real. The new price of this particular watch is $41.000 and used worth about half of that....around $20.000.

My Mother is 80 years old and still rides her bike. About 2 weeks ago she fell off her bike and broke her arm. The fraction was complicated and she had to be operated immediately. The doctor's had to insert a metal plate with screws and a cast that she was told to wear for 6-8 weeks.

My mother went for a check up just 2 weeks after breaking her arm and they removed the cast to see how the arm was healing and guess what it is healed.

I don't believe in a God that rewards or punishes. I actually don't believe in a God apart from us. I believe that God is Spirit and Spirit is perfect and that is who we are in the silence of our mind.

I believe that we as humans create our experiences based on our beliefs. Jesus only healed those that were in his consciousness. They either believed he could heal or he would ask them for a demonstration such as go wash your eyes out at the river, go show your self to the priest.

I see all problems as a manifestation of a belief in a separation from God/Spirit/perfection. My demonstration is to not judge an appearance according to Good or bad but make righteous judgment of an appearance based on the truth of who we really are beyond this appearance.

Miracles happen when you believe in the possibility and demonstrate that belief in your actions, words and thoughts.
